At least 21 militants have been killed in air strikes
targeting Taliban positions in Afghanistan's northern province of Jawzjan.
Mohammad Hanif Rezai, a spokesman for the army in the north, said on Friday
afternoon that Georgian had targeted the Taliban positions and hideouts in
Murgab, Hasantabin, Atma and adjoining villages along the road connecting
neighboring Saripul province, killing 21 insurgents and wounding 10 others. At
least two Afghans have been killed and more than 300 injured in a "Taliban
attack" on National Flag Day in Yaqubi district.
